E10K: Commands

Platform related commands

Command

Description

cb_reset

Resets and reboots control boards which will reset all active domains. Use this only when the control boards have stopped responding or when you need to change the control boards' IP addresses.

cb_prom

Used to update the flash PROM on the control boards.

domain_create

Used to create domains

-d ${domain_name}

Name of the domain; must also be the domain's hostname

-b ${sbs[*]}

List of system boards that will comprise the new domains separated by spaces.

-o ${os_version}

The OS version that will be installed on the new domain

-p ${E10K_name}

The name of the E10K platform; useful for when your SSP is managing more than one E10K platform.

domain_history

Displays the contents of the domain_history file showing which domains have been removed but can be recreated and which system boards compose them.

domain_remove

Removes/deactivates domains. Only argument: -d ${domain_name}

domain_rename

Renames domain names

 

-d ${old_name}

Old domain name

 

-n ${new_name}

New domain name

domain_status

Displays the contents of the domain_config file showing which domains can be activated and which boards are contained within them.

domain_switch

An alias that changes the value of the SUNW_HOSTNAME parm and the prompt.

edd_cmd -x [start|stop]

Turns on/off edd processing.

fan

Displays and controls power and speed settings for fans.

-l {front|rear}

Display power speed settings for fans on front/rear of system only.

-t # # #

Apply action to selected fan trays only.

-p {on|off}

Turn on/off power to selected fan trays. If no -t #, applies action to all fan trays.

-s { nominal | fast}

Change the speed setting for selected fan trays. If no -t #, applies a ction to all fan trays.

Provides GUI access to most E10K platform/domain management tasks.

Domain specific commands

Command

Description

bringup

Sets the h/w config, configures the centerplane if needed, runs POST, loads and starts OBP, and starts the netcon_server

-f

Don't check to see if domain is already running. Will crash a running domain

-A {on|off}

Toggles the auto-boot? OBP parameter.

-C

Forces configuration of the centerplane. Any running domains will crash

-l {7-15}

Diagnostic level; 7 takes a long time; 15 will take forever.

check_host

-F

Provides fan status

-S

Provides CPU signature information

-h Provides detailed CPU information

 

-p

Provides system component power status

-t

Provides system temperature information

Directs the control board to change the system power state:

-on

Turns on power

-all

Apply power to everything: full cmd: power -on -all

-off

Turns off power

-B

Turns off power to everything: Full cmd: power -B -off

Apply action to specific system boards

-s

Turn on/off selected power supplies

-p

Turn on/off specific power distribution units
